5 DAYS KOMODO CRUISE & TOUR
EXPLORATION CRUISE TO THE LAND OF DRAGONS
Reaching up to 3m in length and more than 150 kg, Komodo dragons are the world’s largest living lizards. Thriving in the harsh climate of Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands, Komodo dragons have lived for millions of years. In 1980, the UNESCO World Heritage Komodo National Park was established to protect the Komodo dragon and its habitat. This refuge is also home to species such as the orange-footed scrub fowl and Timor deer, as well as a rich marine environment supporting whales, dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, corals, sponges, manta rays, and more than a thousand species of fish. Komodo dragons only live on a hand full of islands in Indonesia. The crocodile and the Orah, as it is called by the locals, are the closest we have to dinosaurs. The dragons have long been a source of major fascination for the peoples of Flores who share their islands with them, till today. Discover History, Myth and Folklore of the Komodo Dragon. As part of Rotary mission to serve, we will be carrying out a humanitarian service to bring clean water to a Komodo village during this trip.
